About aov windows

Common in residential stairwells, HMOs, flats, offices and care homes, often on the top floor of a stair.
Local considerations in Southend-on-Sea, Southend-on-Sea
In England, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B of the Building Regulations (England), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including aov windows, in good working order.
In a built-up area like Southend-on-Sea, many jobs are in blocks of flats, mixed-use buildings and car parks, so access, parking for our vans and out-of-hours working are planned at survey.
We check the free area, window frame strength, opening angle, cable routes in fire-rated cable and the controller location.
