- CO detection needed
Standards and regulations
Smoke control components are covered by the BS EN 12101 series (for example EN 12101-2 for natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilators, EN 12101-3 for powered fans, EN 12101-6 for pressure differential systems, EN 12101-8 for smoke dampers, EN 12101-9 for control panels and EN 12101-10 for power supplies). Design follows Approved Document B (England), BS 9991 (residential) or BS 9999 (other buildings), with Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish equivalents. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 the responsible person must keep systems maintained. Car park guidance is in BS 7346-7.
Installation considerations
We check fans, CO detection, panel and fire alarm interface. Price shown is a comparable controller.
Every installation starts with a free survey. We confirm the specification, give you a written quote, install and commission the system, and hand over with test records and instructions.
Maintenance of car park smoke ventilation
Planned maintenance keeps car park smoke ventilation safe and reliable and gives you records for insurers and inspections. We service Ventlux and all other makes: we check fixings, wear, power and battery backup, controls and safety devices, adjust and lubricate where needed, test operation end to end and leave a written report with any recommended actions.
Repairs
If your car park smoke ventilation has stopped working, is noisy, is opening or closing on its own or is showing a fault, we fault-find on site and repair it, often on the first visit using parts from our shop. We repair systems we did not install and work on all common makes.
Servicing
Servicing intervals depend on use and risk; most sites have a service at least once a year, busy or safety-critical systems more often. We can set up a service contract with reminders so it is never missed. Installation, maintenance, repair and service prices are POA after a free survey and quote.
