About car park smoke ventilation
Enclosed car parks use jet (impulse) fans and extract fans, or natural openings, to clear fumes daily and smoke in a fire.
Underground and enclosed car parks under flats, offices and shopping centres.
Local considerations in Kirkwall, Orkney Islands
In Scotland, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under the Scottish Building Standards Technical Handbooks (Section 2: Fire), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including car park smoke ventilation, in good working order.
Around Kirkwall we often work on smaller blocks, rural businesses, farms and private homes, where power supply and cable runs can be longer, so we check these at survey.
We check fans, CO detection, panel and fire alarm interface. Price shown is a comparable controller.
