About car park smoke ventilation
Enclosed car parks use jet (impulse) fans and extract fans, or natural openings, to clear fumes daily and smoke in a fire.
Underground and enclosed car parks under flats, offices and shopping centres.
Local considerations in Oldham, Borough of Oldham
In England, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B of the Building Regulations (England), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including car park smoke ventilation, in good working order.
At roughly 204 m above sea level, Oldham sees more wind, driving rain and frost than lowland areas, so we pay attention to weather sealing, cable entries and, for vents, rain and wind sensors.
In a built-up area like Oldham, many jobs are in blocks of flats, mixed-use buildings and car parks, so access, parking for our vans and out-of-hours working are planned at survey.
We check fans, CO detection, panel and fire alarm interface. Price shown is a comparable controller.
