The most common system in UK residential stairs, low-rise flats, HMOs and atriums.

In Wales, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B as published by the Welsh Government, and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 as it applies in Wales to keep fire safety systems, including natural smoke ventilation (nshev), in good working order.

At roughly 186 m above sea level, Merthyr Tydfil sees more wind, driving rain and frost than lowland areas, so we pay attention to weather sealing, cable entries and, for vents, rain and wind sensors.
