About natural smoke ventilation (nshev)
Natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilation (NSHEV) uses the buoyancy of hot smoke to escape through high-level AOVs, with low-level inlet air.
The most common system in UK residential stairs, low-rise flats, HMOs and atriums.
Local considerations in York, City of York
In England, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B of the Building Regulations (England), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including natural smoke ventilation (nshev), in good working order.
In a built-up area like York, many jobs are in blocks of flats, mixed-use buildings and car parks, so access, parking for our vans and out-of-hours working are planned at survey.
We check vent locations, inlet air, controller and fire alarm interface. The from price is the smallest controller; full systems are quoted after survey.
