About stair pressurisation systems
A pressurisation (pressure differential) system blows clean air into a stair or lobby so it stays at higher pressure and smoke cannot enter.
Used in high-rise residential, offices and firefighting shafts.
Local considerations in Becontree, Greater London
In England, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B of the Building Regulations (England), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including stair pressurisation systems, in good working order.
In a built-up area like Becontree, many jobs are in blocks of flats, mixed-use buildings and car parks, so access, parking for our vans and out-of-hours working are planned at survey.
We check fans, relief vents, door forces and controls. Price shown is a comparable controller; quoted after survey.
