About stair pressurisation systems
A pressurisation (pressure differential) system blows clean air into a stair or lobby so it stays at higher pressure and smoke cannot enter.
Used in high-rise residential, offices and firefighting shafts.
Local considerations in Randalstown, Antrim and Newtownabbey
In Northern Ireland, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Technical Booklet E of the Building Regulations (Northern Ireland), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 and the Fire Safety Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010 to keep fire safety systems, including stair pressurisation systems, in good working order.
Around Randalstown we often work on smaller blocks, rural businesses, farms and private homes, where power supply and cable runs can be longer, so we check these at survey.
We check fans, relief vents, door forces and controls. Price shown is a comparable controller; quoted after survey.
