About rain & wind sensors
Rain and wind sensors close vents used for daily ventilation when weather turns. Smoke mode overrides them.
On roof vents and windows with comfort ventilation.
Local considerations in Aberdeen, Aberdeen City
In Scotland, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under the Scottish Building Standards Technical Handbooks (Section 2: Fire), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including rain & wind sensors, in good working order.
In a built-up area like Aberdeen, many jobs are in blocks of flats, mixed-use buildings and car parks, so access, parking for our vans and out-of-hours working are planned at survey.
We mount the sensor clear of drips and shelter and wire it to the panel.
