About rain & wind sensors
Rain and wind sensors close vents used for daily ventilation when weather turns. Smoke mode overrides them.
On roof vents and windows with comfort ventilation.
Local considerations in Rhondda, Rhondda Cynon Taf
In Wales, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B as published by the Welsh Government, and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 as it applies in Wales to keep fire safety systems, including rain & wind sensors, in good working order.
At roughly 256 m above sea level, Rhondda sees more wind, driving rain and frost than lowland areas, so we pay attention to weather sealing, cable entries and, for vents, rain and wind sensors.
Work in Rhondda is a mix of residential blocks, schools, offices, industrial units and homes, and we tailor the specification to how busy the site is.
We mount the sensor clear of drips and shelter and wire it to the panel.
