Local considerations in Launceston, Cornwall
In England, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B of the Building Regulations (England), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including residential stairwell aov systems, in good working order.
Around Launceston we often work on smaller blocks, rural businesses, farms and private homes, where power supply and cable runs can be longer, so we check these at survey.
We survey the stair, existing vents, power and the fire risk assessment. From price is the controller; full systems quoted after survey.
