Used at the head of stairs in flats, offices and HMOs.
Local considerations in Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
In England, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B of the Building Regulations (England), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including roof smoke vents, in good working order.
At roughly 157 m above sea level, Sutton in Ashfield sees more wind, driving rain and frost than lowland areas, so we pay attention to weather sealing, cable entries and, for vents, rain and wind sensors.
Work in Sutton in Ashfield is a mix of residential blocks, schools, offices, industrial units and homes, and we tailor the specification to how busy the site is.
We check roof pitch and covering, the kerb or upstand, opening angle and access.
