Local considerations in Abertillery, Blaenau Gwent

In Wales, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B as published by the Welsh Government, and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 as it applies in Wales to keep fire safety systems, including smoke dampers, in good working order.

At roughly 228 m above sea level, Abertillery sees more wind, driving rain and frost than lowland areas, so we pay attention to weather sealing, cable entries and, for vents, rain and wind sensors.

Around Abertillery we often work on smaller blocks, rural businesses, farms and private homes, where power supply and cable runs can be longer, so we check these at survey.

We check damper size, actuator and monitoring. Price shown is a Ventlux module; dampers quoted after survey.
