About smoke dampers

Smoke dampers are blades in ducts or shafts that open or close to control smoke, driven by actuators and monitored by the panel.

In smoke shafts and mechanical systems on each floor.

Local considerations in City of Westminster, Greater London

In England, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B of the Building Regulations (England), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including smoke dampers, in good working order.

In a built-up area like City of Westminster, many jobs are in blocks of flats, mixed-use buildings and car parks, so access, parking for our vans and out-of-hours working are planned at survey.

We check damper size, actuator and monitoring. Price shown is a Ventlux module; dampers quoted after survey.
