About smoke dampers
Smoke dampers are blades in ducts or shafts that open or close to control smoke, driven by actuators and monitored by the panel.
In smoke shafts and mechanical systems on each floor.
Local considerations in Nelson, Lancashire
In England, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B of the Building Regulations (England), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including smoke dampers, in good working order.
At roughly 170 m above sea level, Nelson sees more wind, driving rain and frost than lowland areas, so we pay attention to weather sealing, cable entries and, for vents, rain and wind sensors.
Work in Nelson is a mix of residential blocks, schools, offices, industrial units and homes, and we tailor the specification to how busy the site is.
We check damper size, actuator and monitoring. Price shown is a Ventlux module; dampers quoted after survey.
