About smoke dampers

Smoke dampers are blades in ducts or shafts that open or close to control smoke, driven by actuators and monitored by the panel.

In smoke shafts and mechanical systems on each floor.

Local considerations in Rhoose, Vale of Glamorgan

In Wales, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B as published by the Welsh Government, and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 as it applies in Wales to keep fire safety systems, including smoke dampers, in good working order.

Around Rhoose we often work on smaller blocks, rural businesses, farms and private homes, where power supply and cable runs can be longer, so we check these at survey.

We check damper size, actuator and monitoring. Price shown is a Ventlux module; dampers quoted after survey.
