About smoke ventilation louvres

Smoke louvres have motorised blades that open for smoke venting and close for weather. They can sit in facades or roofs.

Used in commercial buildings, atriums, shopping centres and residential corridors.

Local considerations in Dalkeith, Midlothian

In Scotland, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under the Scottish Building Standards Technical Handbooks (Section 2: Fire), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including smoke ventilation louvres, in good working order.

Around Dalkeith we often work on smaller blocks, rural businesses, farms and private homes, where power supply and cable runs can be longer, so we check these at survey.

We check opening size, wind exposure and blade drive. Price shown is a comparable actuator; louvres are quoted after survey.

Repairs in Dalkeith

If your smoke ventilation louvres has stopped working, is noisy, is opening or closing on its own or is showing a fault, we fault-find on site and repair it, often on the first visit using parts from our shop. We repair systems we did not install and work on all common makes.

Servicing in Dalkeith

Servicing intervals depend on use and risk; most sites have a service at least once a year, busy or safety-critical systems more often. We can set up a service contract with reminders so it is never missed. Installation, maintenance, repair and service prices are POA after a free survey and quote.
