About stair pressurisation systems
A pressurisation (pressure differential) system blows clean air into a stair or lobby so it stays at higher pressure and smoke cannot enter.
Used in high-rise residential, offices and firefighting shafts.
Local considerations in Selkirk, The Scottish Borders
In Scotland, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under the Scottish Building Standards Technical Handbooks (Section 2: Fire), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including stair pressurisation systems, in good working order.
At roughly 178 m above sea level, Selkirk sees more wind, driving rain and frost than lowland areas, so we pay attention to weather sealing, cable entries and, for vents, rain and wind sensors.
Around Selkirk we often work on smaller blocks, rural businesses, farms and private homes, where power supply and cable runs can be longer, so we check these at survey.
We check fans, relief vents, door forces and controls. Price shown is a comparable controller; quoted after survey.
Maintenance of stair pressurisation systems in Selkirk
Planned maintenance keeps stair pressurisation systems safe and reliable and gives you records for insurers and inspections. We service Ventlux and all other makes: we check fixings, wear, power and battery backup, controls and safety devices, adjust and lubricate where needed, test operation end to end and leave a written report with any recommended actions.
Repairs in Selkirk
If your stair pressurisation systems has stopped working, is noisy, is opening or closing on its own or is showing a fault, we fault-find on site and repair it, often on the first visit using parts from our shop. We repair systems we did not install and work on all common makes.
Servicing in Selkirk
Servicing intervals depend on use and risk; most sites have a service at least once a year, busy or safety-critical systems more often. We can set up a service contract with reminders so it is never missed. Installation, maintenance, repair and service prices are POA after a free survey and quote.
