About rain & wind sensors
Rain and wind sensors close vents used for daily ventilation when weather turns. Smoke mode overrides them.
On roof vents and windows with comfort ventilation.
Local considerations in Preston, Lancashire
In England, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B of the Building Regulations (England), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including rain & wind sensors, in good working order.
In a built-up area like Preston, many jobs are in blocks of flats, mixed-use buildings and car parks, so access, parking for our vans and out-of-hours working are planned at survey.
We mount the sensor clear of drips and shelter and wire it to the panel.
Maintenance of rain & wind sensors in Preston
Planned maintenance keeps rain & wind sensors safe and reliable and gives you records for insurers and inspections. We service Ventlux and all other makes: we check fixings, wear, power and battery backup, controls and safety devices, adjust and lubricate where needed, test operation end to end and leave a written report with any recommended actions.
