About smoke ventilation louvres

Smoke louvres have motorised blades that open for smoke venting and close for weather. They can sit in facades or roofs.

Used in commercial buildings, atriums, shopping centres and residential corridors.

Local considerations in Barnoldswick, Lancashire

In England, smoke ventilation in new and altered buildings is designed under Approved Document B of the Building Regulations (England), and once the building is occupied the responsible person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to keep fire safety systems, including smoke ventilation louvres, in good working order.

At roughly 161 m above sea level, Barnoldswick sees more wind, driving rain and frost than lowland areas, so we pay attention to weather sealing, cable entries and, for vents, rain and wind sensors.

Around Barnoldswick we often work on smaller blocks, rural businesses, farms and private homes, where power supply and cable runs can be longer, so we check these at survey.

We check opening size, wind exposure and blade drive. Price shown is a comparable actuator; louvres are quoted after survey.

Maintenance of smoke ventilation louvres in Barnoldswick

Planned maintenance keeps smoke ventilation louvres safe and reliable and gives you records for insurers and inspections. We service Ventlux and all other makes: we check fixings, wear, power and battery backup, controls and safety devices, adjust and lubricate where needed, test operation end to end and leave a written report with any recommended actions.
